Morgan and Steven had a beautiful wedding at The Farmhouse surrounded by colorful Fall foliage on the perfect October day.

How did you meet and when did he propose?

Steven and I met in middle school. We had art class together and I remember thinking he was so loud! Always talking about football. So, it’s no surprise we didn’t start dating until after high school and college. We’d been dating for six years before he proposed. In the fall, we always pick one Saturday to do fall things, pumpkin picking, apple cider, etc. That year Steven got us tickets to a sunflower farm. He told me to go into the flowers and pick a few to cut and bring home. When I turned around with the flowers, he was down on a knee.

Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding? What were some of your favorite things about the venue?

We wanted a venue that would be close to home, easy for out of state family to find, and not too outrageously priced. We were also looking for what I called “classy rustic.” I wanted a rustic look, but I didn’t want it to feel like barn animals were going to come through at any minute. The Farmhouse was perfect and when we found out that they had a team of vendors and the bar, centerpieces, and cake were included, we were sold!

What other special details did you include on your big day?

We wanted to include our dog in our wedding day, but knew he wouldn’t be able to settle down during the ceremony. So, we had custom napkins made with him on them, a small figurine of him on our cake and also dedicated the bar to him with a sign. We also created a “wedding day logo” and used it wherever we could; invitations, RSVP cards, signage, the DJ stand, embossed on envelopes, and we ordered custom drink stirrers with it too.

Our vendors were AMAZING! I absolutely cannot rave about them enough. They went above and beyond for us and took so much of the stress out of planning. They were quick to respond to my questions, flexible with my requests, and really came through. As a type A person, I do not trust others easily, but this team 100% knew what they were doing and put me at ease from the first time I met with each of them.
