Brittany and Matt held their June wedding at The Farmhouse and were eager to share details of their big day!

Our June 7, 2024 wedding at The Farmhouse was everything we could have imagined. The Farmhouse was the first and only venue we toured onsite. I was enthralled with the beauty and intimacy of The Farmhouse. It’s picturesque! Also, having the no stress all-inclusive packages further solidified that this was where we wanted our forever to begin. The vibe, food, and guest service were spectacular.

How did you meet your significant other? How did he/she propose?

I can’t believe that our wedding day was the culmination of a day more of a 4-year love story, which began on June 6, 2020. We went from sending a few messages back and forth on POF to going out on several socially distanced dates to exploring new ventures, and swooning over his surprise proposal in Niagara Falls, ON during our anniversary trip in June 2023. The Farmhouse started us on new a new chapter of marital bliss.

Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding? What were some of your favorite things about the venue? What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

I am so happy to proudly say that our wedding has been a part of the 30-year wedding tradition legacy. It was important to us that we were able to incorporate cultural, personal, and sentimental aspects of our big day and The Farmhouse gave us the space to celebrate. We decided to traditionally spend the evening prior a part and I’ll never forget the moment before the ceremony we captured “first touch.” I still tear up thinking about the moment our hands found each other’s and Matt caressed my hand in his palm. The staff were so careful with our expectations and that made it even more special. The anticipation of seeing my groom after turning the corner lined with red bricks will forever give me butterflies.

There were so many memorable moments that we relive, like when my mom and I danced to “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion and when Matt and his mom danced to “You’ll be in My Heart” by Phil Collins. The heartfelt toasts given by his oldest nephew, my sister, and the many nods to my husband’s love of fishing were everything.

I cannot speak more highly of a wedding venue. They have a plan b for anything that could go not to plan on your wedding day like the weather, but fortunately we had a beautiful day. Anna was so friendly, caring, patient and reassuring that our big day would be nothing less that superb. I was a very anxious bride and Anna was there from the start of our booking quickly answering any emails, coordinating with our vendors, and making sure that on our day my husband and I were treated like royalty. Anna and Sam treated our family and friends like they were their own. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was. Even post-wedding, Anna has still been our biggest cheerleader.

If you had one piece of advice for future couples, what would it be?

The day is about being surrounded by those you love. If we had one piece of advice to give to couples, we would say only make choices for your wedding day that reflect your values and desires as a couple. It’s not about adhering to every single tradition, just the ones that are important to you both. For example, we didn’t have an even numbered bridal and it also felt right for me to walk down the aisle alone holding my bouquet with a memory charm of both my dad’s and grandfather’s pictures. It’s about bringing your vision to life on that day. When it’s all over, you want to be able to look back on this day like Frank Sinatra, “I did it my way”. My hope is that more engaged couples can know The Farmhouse like my heart knows it. What a time we had!
